Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Guardians

I pray this message finds everyone safe and well. First and foremost, thank you for your patience for we continue to navigate through this extraordinary time. The current Corona virus outbreak is triggering increased anxiety, and depression among young adults. Staying indoors for months, aloof and alienated from the outside world except through the virtual media is indeed mind-boggling and disturbing for all of us. It is time we must identify the red flags and learn techniques to cope with the present situation. Time management and striking a balance is of paramount importance. We must allow a child to develop and have a balanced personality. There has to be a level of trust and responsibility. Even in these trying times when education and learning have to continue, the purpose of learning must be made clear to the children while motivating them. The child’s point of view needs to be heard. We must encourage children to maintain their normal routine of waking up early, keeping breakfast, mealtime and bedtime routines consistent. This will give your kids a sense of consistency, and it will help you too. Yoga and meditation goes a long way to keep stress and anxiety at bay. It also boasts our immunity. Students can be encouraged to include yoga, exercise, meditation as a part of their daily routine. The PE department of South City International School is keeping no stones unturned in encouraging students to include the habit of exercise and yoga every morning.

The world has been relying on the Ayurvedic system of medicine since ages. Now is the time to introduce the students to the simple household food found in our kitchens like garlic, ginger, coconut oil, yoghurt, turmeric and medicinal plants like Holy Basilor, Tulsi that can help boost our immune system. Teachers are also being encouraged to give projects and assignments based on this topic as this is the call of the hour. The age old practices, which have been imbibed in our mind and spirit through generations, now finds meaning and logic when we understand the necessity of health, hygiene and cleanliness. May everyone on our community be blessed with good health and filled with hope as we carefully prepare for the future of South City International School and the students we so gratefully serve. Peace and blessings.

With Warm Regards
